What are the prices for the rooms?
Prices for rooms vary depending on your level of need and the type of room. We will be happy to provide these when you visit the home and have given us details of your loved one.
What activities do you provide?
We have two activities co-ordinators working Mon - Fri. They provide a wide variety of activities both inside the home and outside where we make use of the close proximity to the town centre, beach area, promande and the decking area.
Of course you are more than welcome to come and join in with any activities or do your own whenever you wish.
What other facilities do you offer?
We have a hairdresser on a weekly basis, chiropodist every 6-8 weeks, residents committee group who arrange activities and outings for the residents working in partnership with the local Lions group, good working relationship with the District Nurse team and G.Ps.
What are your staff ratios?
This varies depending on how many residents we have and their individual needs. We always have a Senior and a Care Manager on every shift and the home manager is on call when required.
We'll be happy to show you the staff ratio for any specific shift when you visit the home.
What are the meal choices?
There are a variety of different meal choices on a daily basis to choose from. Our experienced chefs can cater for all dietary requirements. If your loved one does not like a meal choice the chef will cater for their specific needs.
Your loved one can choose when they have their meals and where they would like to eat them.
What are your visiting times?
You are more than welcome to visit anytime. This is your loved one's home and it is provided for their convenience, not ours.
We suggest avoiding normal meal times unless you are having one with us, which you are very welcome to do. All we ask is you let us know in advance so chef can be prepared.
Do you have an alarm system, especially for during the night?
All our rooms are fitted with an alarm call system which will summon a member of staff to the room when pressed.
When your loved one first moves in they will be monitored very closely to ensure safety and well-being at all times.
If, after this initial period, there are safety concerns additional precautions such pressure sensor mats next to the bed, observation charts and health and medication reviews will be put in place.
Can we bring our personal items?
That is your loved one's home and we want them to feel as comfortable as possible. So, by all means bring any treasured momentoes, pictures or any other items you want. As long as they fit in the room safely it won't be a problem.
Can I have my own money
We advise keeping a small amount of pocket money for treats etc. Most things your loved one will need are provided, however we will purchase anything else they may need and invoice you accordingly.
What happens if my health deteriorates?
We have a good relationship with all the local medical professionals and will do everything in our power to keep your loved one with us in their home for as long as possible.
Should the worst come to the worst then we also have a number of staff members trained in end of life care.
